For over 40 years we have been designing and making fine quality bespoke hand knotted carpets and flat weaves from both historical and newly drafted designs.
BESPOKE DESIGN
Our many years of experience, knowledge and extensive archives enable us to design carpets that are not only historically sympathetic and complimentary to the interior architecture but also suitable for contemporary taste.
WEAVING
Our premises in Bulgaria represent the last, hand-woven, commercial carpet production in Europe. The traditional process of carpet weaving has changed very little in the last hundred years. The weavers are highly skilled and the workshop provides most of the employment in the area.
RESTORATION
For over 40 years, David and Sara Bamford have conserved, restored and cleaned historic floor coverings, working as approved contractors to the National Trust, English Heritage and many historic houses throughout the UK and Europe.
SUSTAINABILITY
We pride ourselves on sustainable, environmentally-friendly work practices and our workshop in Bulgaria has been given a 'centre of excellence' award by the United Nations DP Inspectorate.
